"Elegy for a King", by Frederic Hand. Guitar: John Beckett "Antigua".
I don't normally record pieces that I've only studied for a couple of months, too many rough edges, but I wanted to get a sense of how this was coming along. This haunting elegy was written by Fred Hand in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and I first heard it at the NYC Classical Guitar Society, back in the day! I made myself a note to get to it at one point in the future (even if a distant one!). Played on my beautiful "Antigua" guitar by John Beckett (www.johnbeckettguitars.com) her crystalline tones are great on this piece, I find!
J.S.Bach: Andante from Violin Sonata No.2, BVW 1003.
Picking up this beautiful Andante again on my “Antigua” classical guitar by John Beckett (www.johnbeckettguitars.com). This little gem of a guitar is a traditional build in Indian rosewood and spruce -French polish and easy care matte finish- with a sweet and clear voice, lovely harmonics and nuances and very responsive! More to come and thanks for listening!
